The Book of Burning Questions felt like a book with images of some sort from the very start. In the early days of 2020, it began to make sense to “disassemble” simple personal photos to find the essence in each of them. How had the pictures taken at the time the poems were being written and rewritten unintentionally mirrored the verse journey? How could the scissored and reassembled elements speak to the poems journey? Both the collages in The Book of Burning Questions and the additional artwork created as stand-alone pieces became answers to these questions.
